No need to protect the GPSMAP 60CSx from the rain the IPX7 waterproof case can even withstand an accidental dunk in the water and still work. On top of the preloaded map you can store extra maps and information like waypoints on a 64meg micro SD card that comes with the 60CSx. You can even purchase microSD cards that are preloaded with maps so you don't have to connect the unit to the computer. The microSD slot is inside the water proof battery compartment so you don't have to worry about water getting in from the card slot.
